She that her fame so to herself contrives,
Battlecraft, the fast-paced chess style strategy game created by Sigil Entertainment is available now for Android and iOS.

The game's signature feature is that, although it's turn-based, you never have to wait for your turn to make your move. This is because the game has simultaneous play when online. Of course, simul-play has - of late - become a popular and recognizable aspect of online gaming.

Prediction is your ticket to victory express, as it's all about knowing what your opponent will do next. You'll be able to put together a squad with over 20 different heroes to give you an advantage.

You can earn some new abilities as well, and these can be unlocked in the single-player mode. Single-player also allows you to level up as well, which is a good way to prepare you for online play.

Battlecraft is unique in that it combines, speed, craftsmanship, and chess all in one package. The strategic approaches can vary per match.

“Battlecraft was born out of my love for chess. So with chess as a starting point, I came up with the idea of having actions play out simultaneously in turns," Nikola Todorovic, Founder of Sigil Entertainment said. "This way, you get this chaotic, exciting feeling while still having time to think about your choices."

Todorovic mentions how the game has a rock-paper-scissors feel in that you can think fast and guess the opponent's attacks, and then strike. You can also choose to play more defensively, dodging attacks before going in for your own.

A leaderboard presence helps to keep you coming back for more. You can rise up the ranks in online play, and certainly, earning rewards and leveling up in single-player could help that greatly.

Battlecraft is available now on Google Play, Steam, and the App Store. And it's out for the splendid price of free.
Looking for more strategy games for your Android device? A free to play adventure game designed for young children, you’re tasked with exploring the idyllic Savvy islands armed with a ‘trash blaster’, as you’re tasked with cleaning up the island of litterbugs that have polluted the paradise.

It resembles the popular console game Slime Rancher in many ways with its colourful bubbly graphics and kid-friendly vibe. After 1.7 million downloads across Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, Island Saver has now made its way onto iOS and Android.

A big part of Island Saver is its ‘learn through play’ approach that especially appeals to younger children, ranging from simple ‘work to earn’ tasks as characters earn coins by cleaning up litter, to saving money in bank accounts. NatWest hopes the game will teach children the value of earning and saving money.

Thom Henrick, Head of Social Strategy and Programmes at NatWest, commented: “We’ve been blown away by the interest in Island Saver – with 1 million downloads in the first five weeks and we’re now on track to hit the 2 million milestone in the coming weeks. As a dad myself, I know families have been looking for free ways to entertain the children at home over the past few months, and with its educational slant Island Saver ticks a lot of boxes.”

Speaking on the mobile port, Stormcloud’s Frank Ardot said: “We’re confident Island Saver will have just as much appeal on mobile as consoles. It’s a full console experience on a mobile device and players can see the quality and depth of the game from the get-go.”

It should be worth noting Island Saver is completely free on mobile. There’s no adverts or monetisation of the game mechanics. There are paid expansion packs, where the net proceeds go to Young Money and SpecialEffect UK charities.

You can download Island Saver on the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android.
Check out our list for the top relaxing games you can play on Android.
The thing we have not, mast'ring what not strives,androidswiki.com
UKIP leader Nigel Farage is upset about a free Android game called UKIK made by 18-year-old students that parodies him and his party.

UKIK has you playing as Nicholas Fromage as he kicks stereotypes of immigrants off the white cliffs of Dover and into the sea.

You tap the screen to power up your kick, and tap again in order to release, then watch as the immigrant you kicked sails through the air.

There are three measurements for your kick in the game. Distance and Score are obvious ones, while the third is "UK Economy Down," which is measured in a rising percentage.

More telling of the game's political slant is what the Score measurement was before an update saw it changed - it measured Racism.

Farage saw the game before the update swapped out the Racism measure and spoke to the Kentish Gazette about it."Those elements are risible and in many ways pathetic. I think I'm quite well known for having a sense of humour," Farage said.

"I'm a public figure and of course people are going to have views. But elements of this game appear to cross the line."

UKIK was made by students as part of a technology class at Canterbury Academy.

On the game's Google Play page, the students describe themselves a "a team of developers who create games based upon controversial news stories for the purposes of entertainment and to encourage political discussion amongst young people.

They also add that the "purpose of [UKIK] is to highlight the importance of a diverse culture for our great nation as well as make a mockery of extremist views."

Farage said that he welcomed their opinions and wouldn't look to stifle their criticism.

"Fair play to them for having a bit of fun," Farage added. "If they want to go away and look at UKIP policies, they will actually learn a lot."
Eurogamer
